Miguel Coriano, 45, of Paterson, and Salvatore Zisa Jr., 39, of Clifton, were connected to a robbery at Field Liquors on Route 46 last June, Detective Sgt. Robert Bracken said.

One of the men pulled a fake handgun on a cashier and demanded cash, Bracken said. When the employee refused, he tried to run away with the cash register but dropped it and the fake gun outside the store while his partner acted as the getaway driver, he said.

Zisa was arrested Wednesday after a brief car chase, Bracken said.

He was also arrested in January on burglary charges.

Coriano and Zisa were each charged with armed robbery and possession of an intimation handgun, the detective sergeant said.

Coriano was already in jail in Essex County for an unrelated crime, Bracken said.
